Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dough:
1.1 Activate the Yeast:- In a small bowl, combine the warm water and sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
- Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Gradually incorporate the flour into the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.

2.1 Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions.

- Place the shaped dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
2.5 Optional Topping:
- Beat an egg yolk and brush it over the surface of the pides.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds or Nigella seeds on top.
- Let the shaped pides rest for about 15-20 minutes for a second rise.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the Turkish bread is golden brown.
3. Enjoy:
- Allow the Turkish bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
